How this Vegetable Hawker made me $19,000+ in less than 7 months.
I met a vegetable lady who was better than 90% marketing gurus on the internet.
I was stuck at $ 1,000 MRR for more than 5 months, I just wasn’t able to above that mark.
No matter what I tried, my monthly revenue revolved around $1-2k.
I was stressed and frustrated…
Until this day when a Vegetable Lady helped me cross $2000/month and go way beyond that.
Here’s a short story of what happened that day:
1kg Potato
2kg Onions
1kg Apple
4 Lemons
Mom: You dare not forget anything or you’ll not get any food.
Me: Yeah, alright. (too lazy to write it down in the shopping list)
*At vegetable shop*
Me: 1kg Potato, 2kg onions, 1kg tomato
Vegetable Lady: Giving in a sec.
Me: (I’m forgetting something, what can it be)
Vegetable Lady: The sun’s burning isn’t it?
Me: (panicking) Yeah, the temperature exceeds 38°C
Vegetable Lady: Take some lemons, a lemonade will be nice in this weather :)
Me: (damnnn, that was what I was missing, no need to call mom and listen to another lecture) Yeah, you’re right, give me 4 of them, please.
(Here’s where things get interesting)
Lady: Top it with some mint, it’ll become more refreshing.
Me: Yeah, alright. Pack a bunch of them as well.
Lady: Need some cucumbers, they’re fresh?
Me: Umm… Well, works.
Lady: Mangoes won’t be available from next week, it’s better that you get some as well.
Me: (me being a mango lover) Ah yeah, you’re right. Pack a kg of that as well.
Lady: Here you go! I’ve added some corianders for free as well.
Me: Hey thanks, here’s the money.
*back at home*
Mom: Who told you to bring mint and cucumber? We already had it!
Me: Well they were fresh…
Mom: Yeah, now wait will they get rotten, right?
Me: No, just make me lemonade.
Mom: Why not, I’ll just put this whole bunch of mint leaves in your drink.
Me: 🙂🙃🙂🙃
*After getting the best lemonade of my life that day*
While eating mint leaves that day… Cough…
I mean gulping down that tasty lemonade on that hot summer day.
I reverse-engineered what happened to me.
It wasn’t like I went to buy mint leaves, cucumber or mangoes, then what were the reasons that made me buy them?
I don’t know if that vegetable lady did a marketing course but she was a way better marketer than 90% of the gurus teaching marketing on social media.
I found out 4 tricks that she used on me and when I started using them in my business, it took off and never returned!
Miss these and you’ll regret for life:

Mangoes - ProductThis is what I was doing wrong for so long.
I was focusing on how good my edits are, and how many effects transitions plugins I can use to make the videos look good.
But I realize on that day… Having beautiful edits is not the problem that will make me a lot of money.
Not getting views, retention, subscribers, sales, or traffic surely will!Most video editors are competing in the end where they make the best edits.
They put in 100 hours in a video to make it look good and then charged less than $50 for that video cause the client was a gaming client and he didn’t make much money from that video.And I was doing the same…
But when I realized I could tackle bigger problems and reach an audience who could pay me more because of “What I know” (knowledge) and not of “What I do” (work) it became a game changer.But how do I do that?
It’s coming in the next point:
Sell More: For some reason, I thought that I could only sell video editing to my clients. Damn, I was such an idiot.
That lady had the right problems and the right products to solve those problems.
Just like that, my clients already had a problem, but I didn’t have any products to solve them.
They needed someone who does SEO for their videos.
They needed someone who could script videos for them.
They needed someone who could make good thumbnails for them.
They needed someone who could research and give them viral ideas.Just after finishing my glass of mint leaves, I started figuring out the problems that my clients had.
Then, I immediately hopped on a call with one of my clients, but there was a catch.
I used a strategy which again I learnt that day and that made my job so much easier.
Here is it:Connect: That vegetable lady is always polite and friendly to everyone. That’s why everyone comes back to buy stuff from her even if she charges a bit more for them.
Talking to people nicely and building a connection goes a long way. Always!
The way she started a conversation was “Friendly” and not “Salesy”
And this should be your goal too.
Build a nice relationship with your clients. Talk to them on a regular basis and understand them on a deeper scale.
Know the issues they’re facing and the things that are eating up their time and energy.Only then you can go and say, “Hey, You’ve been putting in a lot of effort doing this man.
I really appreciate it. Just letting you know that I have x service that can help you out with this. You wanna know more about it?”9 out of 10 times you’re gonna close them cause you’re already working with them and you’re providing them value for a long time.
All of them were good, but this one last technique just changed everything!
The Biggest Of Them all: Uhh… there’s a problem tho…
Remembering that time, I’m having that delicious taste of those bitter mint leaves in my mouth so I guess I’ll have to stop here.
