Mega Influencer Abandoned me from Editing Videos
A Half a Millions Subs YouTuber asked me to stop editing videos. And I did...

A Video Editing guru who has by far the best premiere pro course that too is free and available to all on YouTube.
Jack Cole.
Why did he tell me not to edit videos ever again?
What caused him to say that?
• I’m an expert in his private video editing community
• I’m a great video editor myself
• I have a personal brand that too is based on Video Editing…
Then Why?
Is Jack jealous of me and he doesn’t want me to earn more and scale my business?
Nope!
The reality is the exact opposite!
Jack is a mastermind and he has been in the Video Editing game for more than 6 years now also he wants to see all of us grow.
Then why? Why the hell would he stop me from doing that?
Because of the same reason I’m gonna stop YOU from Editing Videos.
No matter how well organised you are, no matter how much Ali Abdaal you consume, no matter how well maintained your desk is…
Video editing takes time, a ton of time.
You can’t think: “hey, I’m gonna edit this video in 2 hours just because I have 100 years of experience or new AI tools in my stack”
Hell no. The minimum time required to do a decent video edit is 5 hours, if you go into storytelling and animations the time can go up to 30 hours or even more.
So what? What are you even trynna convey?
What I'm saying here is Video Editing is Capped.
You can only limited amount of videos in a day and that too while risking your relationship and health if you push yourself too much.
Which was something I did, and I did it too often.
So often that one day I found my sister crying cause I was not at all paying any attention to my family and wasn’t spending any time with them.
Jack has always been one of my mentors and the one I learnt a lot of stuff from. Luckily I became someone he admired as well and we became friends.
I called him and asked what am I doing wrong here,
And he said the magical words “Get away from Video Editing”
Then I remembered a legendary book I read a few months back named “E-Myth Revisited” where the author Michael Gerber explains the same concept in detail.
Running a business ≠ Owning a business
There are always three people working in a business:
Labour
Manager
Entrepreneur
If you mix all of them, your business will fail miserably which is a common case between restaurant business owners.
I always called myself an Entrepreneur, but all I did was revolve around the manager and labour stage which I know most of you guys are doing as well.
It’s easy to do the work yourself and say “No one can replicate me” cause yeah, no one can do it (tho people can do better than you, that’s the case)
Just like my editors, I didn’t hire them from somewhere, they were my friends who were into video editing and I just grabbed them.
They’re probably better editors than I am and I pay them well for that.
They produce banger videos that give my clients the leads and sales they want from their account and we all win.
I’m the entrepreneur who looks after and markets my business like it’s my child.
I love content creation and that’s the biggest source of marketing for me.
And I still spend at least 2 hours editing videos so that I don’t lose my creative muscle and expertise in it.
Now that’s my case, but there is still one doubt… What should you do?
Video editing is capped and there’s no doubt about it, and there’s a limit to how much you can earn with being an Editor.
Don’t get me wrong, that’s something I prefer to most people. I have friends who are earning 6 Figures by editing videos alone.
Yeah, more than $100,000.
They love their craft, they’re obsessed with their work and they’re good with trading their time. And if that’s you, video editing can be one of the best jobs so go for it, mate.
But if not, if you wanna be someone who spends less than half an hour every day in your business and it still produces results, you need to reconsider your path.
We’re gonna do a massive live session next week on VP+ where we’ll talk about building a Video Editing business and scaling it from scratch.
